TOYS `R' Us is being pursued by the Fair Work Ombudsman after allegedly failing to compensate more than 700 underpaid staff, many of them teenagers.
The Ombudsman lodged documents in the Federal Magistrates Court in Sydney, alleging underpaid workers were not compensated within the time frame required under workplace laws.
It is alleged that hundreds of the company's workplace agreements were invalid because they failed either the fairness or no-disadvantage test.
Employees at the Miranda and Hurstville stores were affected allegedly. The case is listed for a directions hearing on February 1.
