Family favourite gets warm welcomed back

07 Nov, 2009 04:00 AM
AFTER an absence of three years and the addition of a dinosaur's head, the Australian Geographic Store is back in Westfield Miranda.

Store manager Karl Booth said he was overwhelmed by the response of people who were thrilled to see the store reopen.

"I've been greeted with shock and amazement from from nearly every customer that has entered my store, most saying `thank God you're back','' Mr Booth.

"We're back because we knew people were having to travel into the QVB store to get what they wanted so we decided to put another store in the area.''

The new location, on the ground floor of Myer Miranda, includes a replica of Allosaurus head on the wall.

The store carries plenty of dinosaur products, as well as Aboriginal items such as boomerangs.

Other big sellers included weather stations, amateur paleontologist kits for children and telescopes.

Mr Booth said typical customers were parents wanting educational gifts and things with substance.

Details: Miranda Australian Geographic

Store, 92570094.
