Keen designers offered advice

FASHION designers who want to learn more about the industry will benefit from an event on March 4.

The Business Enterprise Centre launched the Designer Markets at Northies in conjunction with Fashion Net@Work, Cronulla.

Now it has has taken another step in support of entrepreneurs.

The centre will host an event, The Business of Fashion: How to Protect Your Designs and Get Ahead.

It has invited Eunika Janus to speak to style stars about the competitive nature of the Australian fashion industry.

Ms Janus, a trained solicitor with a strong background in marketing, is the NSW outreach manager at IP Australia.

She is responsible for raising awareness of intellectual property in businesses, with a particular focus on the fashion industry.

The event is part of a wider concept that aims to create regular designer markets for those who wish to increase brand awareness, promote Australian manufacturing and provide training in marketing.

It runs from noon to 2.30pm on Thursday, March 4, at Northies Hotel, Cronulla

Cost: $20.
