They have also been dating since they were in year 10.
Woolooware High School graduates Georgia Lennon and Ben Carroll came first and second respectively in their school's HSC results.
School dux, Georgia, 17, of Woolooware, received an ATAR of 98.15 and boyfriend Ben, 18, of Lilli Pilli, received 96.6.
"It was a bit of a surprise and a coincidence," Ben said. "Someone said we might even cure cancer!
"We didn't study together, because we had different electives, but we did sit together in one of our classes."
They were also voted "cutest couple" at their school formal.
"Our friends thought it was heaps funny when we got on stage together, saying we were the 'world's smartest couple'," Georgia said.
"When I got bored studying, I'd call him to see if he wanted to hang out but when he said he was studying I thought, 'Damn, I have to now'.
"I'm so happy we both did really well."
Aspiring AFL player, Ben, received a $6000 scholarship to Sydney University.
His girlfriend received a $4000 scholarship to study law and international studies at the University of NSW.
