RESULTS of the final NAPLAN 2011 report have revealed that more than 93 per cent of students achieved at or above the national minimum standard in reading, writing and numeracy.

The report showed that while overall results remained steady since the first tests in 2008, there were positive signs of student improvement across several year groups.

The government will also launch a new national literacy and numeracy database in April this year.

It aims to give teachers access to information about effective teacher strategies.

The final report is available at www.nap.edu.au
