IRISH comedian Jimeoin is touring with a show called Jimeoin on Ice which he cheerfully describes as being "very funny''.
"It's not all glam and I'm not on `ice' by the way; it's just a joke. Just a little joke I thought I'd throw in. But you'd be none the wiser at the end. It's kind of daft,'' he said.
With Jimeoin, "daft'' also means funny! If you missed Jimeoin on Ice at Revesby Workers Club last Saturday, he will be appearing at Club Menai on Saturday, November 14.
Critics have lauded Jimeoin on Ice as one of his best. As a comedian, many might expect Jimeoin to always be funny. Does he often feel that he has to provide the entertainment at a get-together with friends?
"No, I'm more of a deep thinker, and sometimes there are other people who fill that role in that dynamic,'' he said.
"Sometimes when I go out, I do this stupid thing, it's kind of like King Arthur. I think: `Who's the king? Who's the queen? What's my role, am I the jester?' Because in my own house I'm the king. But in other people's houses you go along and they've obviously invited you to be the jester, so you have to fulfil that role.
"Then when you're in your parents' house you're the prince. Sometimes I'm Merlin, and I really like being that character. But sometimes there's already a jester there, and he's friends with the king and it's his role to be the funny person.''
