THE chance to realise two dreams has led Grind Espresso at Cronulla to host a charity event from 7pm on Thursday.
The night will support the Burma Capital Works Project, which aims to develop and sustain communities in Myanmar by providing shelter, education and medical supplies and fostering micro enterprises.
Cafe manager Richard Calabro said the fund-raising idea came about because he wanted to give his customers an insight into the history and preparation of coffee while his wife Greer had always hoped to support a charity through the cafe.
``On the night we will be discussing the history of coffee, where coffee is grown and harvested, the importance of fair trade coffee and what it really means for the farmers, their local communities and how the consumer benefits,'' Mr Calabro said.
``We will also be discussing organic coffee, the process for decaf coffee and the roasting process.''
Grind Espresso has a reputation for garnishing its coffees with latte art.
Details: Grind Espresso is at 6 Surf Road, Cronulla. Tickets are $55.
