Ayden will recover

07 Nov, 2009 04:00 AM
A CHILD who fell from a window last month was expected to make a full recovery, his parents said.

Ayden del Pozo, 6, of Como, fell four metres on to a concrete driveway after leaning on a flyscreen in his parents' house.

Gonzalo and Karen del Pozo said they were told their son would recover despite breaking his skull in the fall.

They were grateful for the support from the community.

"Understandably, the accident was traumatic for our family and friends and we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks for their support and prayers during this difficult time,'' they said.

They thanked the staff and trauma team at the Children's Hospital at Westmead and the emergency services staff who came to the accident scene.

Mr and Mrs del Pozo said the incident was a warning to all parents.

"The incident has highlighted to us the inherent and unexpected dangers in all Australian homes and the need, as parents, to be constantly vigilant,'' they said.
