Businesses in the Kiora Mall, Miranda have been forced to close after a sewerage leak was discovered in the mall’s car park.
Miranda’s motor registry has shut as plumbing teams continue to work to contain the leak.
Fitness Firm manager Chris Kalliris, whose business is nearby, said the smell was overpowering.
‘‘We noticed it around lunchtime I think it was,’’ Mr Kalliris said. ‘‘Inside the gym is alright, but out on the street you really notice it.’’
Roads and Maritime Services, formerly the RTA, issued a statement saying all driving lessons at its Miranda office had been rescheduled.
The motor registry is expected to reopen tomorrow.
