MICHAEL Buble had Peakhurst women in a tizz today, wooing them with his voice, humour and handsome face.
More than a thousand people, primarily women, congregated at Our Lady of Fatima's Catholic Church Peakhurst to watch Buble perform as part of a live broadcast of Channel Nine's Today Show.
Among the assembled fans were Australian Idol finalists Hayley Warner and Stan Walker.
Liane Gill, of Peakhurst, won the right to have the Canadian crooner visit her suburb after winning a Today Show competition.
''I think this is the most exciting thing to happen at Peakhurst, ever,'' Mrs Gill said.
She baked a chocolate cake yesterday to present to the singer when they met.
Buble performed songs from his new album, Crazy Love as well as some hits from previous releases.
He sang five songs: Haven’t Met You Yet , Crazy Love, Sway, Home, and Heartache Tonight.
The Lugarno Lions cooked breakfast for the crowd, and club secretary Bob Walker said the performance was ''absolutely fantastic.''
''It put Peakhurst on the map,'' Mr Walker said.
''We cooked food for a thousand people, and that's all gone. It was fabulous. People loved it and created a mosh pit in front of the stage - all ages were in there.
''My friend brought his 78 year old mother and told her to wait at the gate while he parked his car. When he came back, she was gone.''
Leader photographer Jane Dyson was on site for the spectacle and said Buble was every bit the superstar, happily talking to fans, posing for photos and signing autographs.
''How am I going to work for the rest of the day when Michael Buble just held my hand,'' she said.
