Charity golf day was a friendly affair

15 Nov, 2011 02:13 PM
THE 10th annual Sylvanvale golf day raised more than $40,000 to help children and adults with a disability.

A total of 26 teams consisting of 104 players chipped, putted and eagled their way across Cronulla Golf Course on Monday in a friendly, yet competitive, atmosphere.

Southern Security Alarm team took out first place, followed by Team Shugg and Team John Ward from Budget Fastners. Michael Shugg, from Team Shugg, was deemed the fastest after his drive was clocked at 253km/h. Money raised will be used to purchase multimedia equipment, such as iPads, to give non-verbal people the opportunity to communicate, while wheelchairs will help people with a disability.
