Child-sex accused granted bail

03 Sep, 2008 11:40 AM
Riverwood resident Brian Spillane, 65, the former school chaplain and teacher at St Stanislaus Catholic College, Bathurst, has been charged with 60 more offences relating to the abuse of students there.

He was arrested last night and charged at Hurstville police station where he was granted bail.

A police spokeswoman said the charges related to "historical'' offences happening in the late 1970s.

Mr Spillane already was set to appear in Bathurst Local Court on September 15 to face 33 charges relating to sexual acts performed on children and teenagers aged 10-18.
