KOGARAH municipality residents are being encouraged to peer through a camera viewfinder and capture images that celebrate the diversity of their community.
Entries are open for the Capture Your World photography competition, a Kogarah City Council initiative that will tie in with Harmony Day on March 21.
Community projects officer Arabella Lee said the council was inviting residents to capture the people, places and passions that made up their world.
"We want to see the ways people celebrate their culture, whether it is is in their homes, out and about or during their holidays," Ms Lee said.
"To capture the passion whether it be the people they love, family, sport, along with the places and people within Kogarah."
The photographs will be exhibited at the Kogarah Library and Cultural Centre in the lead-up to Harmony Day.
"Harmony Day is about celebrating diversity and belonging and the different cultures that make up our community," Ms Lee said.
"It is an opportunity to capture people enjoying their culture and to reflect the diversity of the Kogarah community."
The competition is open to all ages. Entries are free; images must be submitted electronically before February 24.
