DETECTIVES targeting drug-related crime in St George are investigating possible links between Monday night's drive-by shooting at Arncliffe and a shooting at Rockdale last month, police said.
Up to 26 bullets were fired at a red brick house on Fairview Street, Arncliffe, and a car parked outside about 9.55pm, police said.
None of the 15 people inside the house were injured and most of the bullets were aimed at a Toyota four-wheel-drive parked outside.
The incident came 10 minutes after shots were fired at an Auburn house with 10 people inside.
It is the eighth shooting in the St George area in the past five months.
A police task force investigating the supply and distribution of drugs in the St George area believe it was a targeted "message" and drug-related.
Middle Eastern Crime Squad police are also looking for possible links after more than a dozen shots were fired at a black Range Rover outside Rockdale Plaza on December 13.
Detective Superintendent Deb Wallace told a press conference on Monday that police did not believe the shootings were bikie-related and could not confirm if they were linked.
"It was deliberate, it was targeted and it was reckless," she said.
"It's not unusual . . . in organised crime that parties who are battling over territory or money or profit often come into dispute with each other for whatever reason.
"Certainly a message was being sent," she said. "But it only takes one round to kill somebody."
