MARY Geer Academy of Dance at Beverly Hills has been going strong for more than five decades.
Former professional dancer Mary Geer opened her doors to students in 1960.
The principal juggled teaching and running the studio with her performing schedule, hanging up her stage shoes after her last classical ballet performance 15 years ago.
She was trained originally in the Cecchetti method of classical ballet, and later with the Royal Academy of Dancing.
The staff at the dance studio have their string of successful credits, including Darren Disney, who was an original dancer in Tap Dogs, and Virginia Lillye, who performed in the musicals Cats, Grease and Fame.
Some former students have gone on to become professional dancers and singers.
There are classes in ballet, contemporary, jazz, hip-hop, tap, musical theatre and singing.
There are also classes for boys.
