HURSTVILLE was the fifth most popular area in the state for first-home purchases in September.
The buyers of 73 homes received benefits totalling $1.84million in State Government grants and stamp duty exemptions.
Liverpool, with 129 purchases, attracted the most first-home buyers, followed by Wentworthville, Blacktown and Parramatta.
Premier Nathan Rees said it was the biggest September since the grants began in 2000.
Treasurer Eric Roozendaal said benefits of up to $34,990 were available for first-home buyers for a newly-constructed home and up to $28,490 for an existing home.
