THE works of mother and daughter Aboriginal artists Annette and Ann-Maree Webb are part of a new exhibition at Hurstville's St George Regional Museum.
The exhibition, Annette Webb and Friends includes paintings, mixed media on canvas, painted gourds, bags and jewellery boxes featuring traditional Aboriginal designs.
The Webbs are part of a group of Aboriginal women artists who meet to paint once a week at the Kurrunulla Aboriginal Corporation at Jannali.
But mother and daughter say while they paint together once a week, they do not influence each other's work.
Mortdale-based artist Annette Webb teaches Aboriginal art at TAFE and her work has been purchased by the Chinese and Japanese embassies.
``My work includes depictions of women's spirit stories as well as traditional stories on painted gourds,'' Annette said. ``Ann-Maree Webb depicts water themes in her work.''
Ann-Maree confirmed that they did not swap ideas about their work although her mother did offer constructive criticism.
Other artists exhibiting are Lynette Williams and Chontel King. Annette's grandson, David, has a painting in the exhibition a depiction of Mount Fuji.
The exhibition continues until October 16.
