Man in court after Lucas Heights shooting

A Wakeley man will face Parramatta Local Court today for his alleged role in an Lucas Heights shooting incident.

Miranda Police arrested the man, 31, yesterday and charged him with possessing a loaded firearm, firing a loaded firearm and possessing an unauthorised pistol.

Police allege he was one of three men caught with a loaded ex-US Army Colt .45 semi-automatic pistol at a truck stop on Old Illawarra Road, Lucas Heights at 11pm on April 14 this year.

Three men were arrested at the time, but police released the Wakeley man and another, 21, pending further investigation.

A Lansvale man, 20, was placed before Sutherland Local Court on April 15.

The third man, 21, had been released.
