 New playground gets thumbs up

New playground gets thumbs up

05 Jan, 2012 03:00 AM
THERE was no wondering what all the fuss was about when the new playground was unveiled recently at Don Lucas Reserve, Wanda.

Tali and Jaeva Bentley, 6, were pictured on New Year’s Day using the ‘‘adventure play space’’ installed by Sutherland Shire Council.

The playground was designed to encourage children to discover their sense of adventure and use their imagination. It includes sand and water play areas, a bird’s nest swing, dry creek bed, climbing rocks and double slippery dip. New picnic tables and shelters have also been installed.

Other recent works at the reserve include a shared pathway for runners, walkers, cyclists and parents with prams and pedestrian crossings in the car park.

The helipad was also moved to the north-west of the car park.
