Police Commissioner crashes car

09 Feb, 2010 02:44 PM
Police Commissioner Andrew Scipione crashed his car at Peakhurst on Saturday morning.

A police spokesman said Mr Scipione was involved in a motor vehicle accident on Saturday while driving his private vehicle.

"No-one was seriously injured, but the passenger of one vehicle received minor injuries, as did Mr Scipione's wife, who was a passenger in his car,'' he said.

"Mr Scipione will be providing a formal statement to police regarding the circumstances of the accident as soon as practicable.''

The police boss was not injured.

Police have ruled out the possibility that speed, alcohol or fatigue contributed to the crash.

A News Limted report this morning said Mr Scipione admitted that the smash was his fault.
