Stun guns seized in Sans Souci raid

06 Feb, 2009 08:24 AM
A Sans Souci man, 41, will appear in Kogarah Local Court today after police found 41 stun guns at an Alice Street, Sans Souci house.

Police from a Surry Hills enforcement squad stormed the house at 7pm last night, taking dozens of stun guns and more than $173,000 in cash.

They arrested a man at the scene and charged him with possessing a prohibited weapon and two counts of having goods in custody suspected of being stolen.

The police squad commander, Detective Inspector Gavin Wood, said the operation would have an effect on St George crime.

"Clearly this is a very successful operation with a significant amount of weapons and cash seized,'' he said.

"Most importantly it means these stun guns will not get onto our streets, which has to be good news for both the police and the community.''
