Around 2000 people headed to Sutherland Entertainment Centre on Sunday to see JWDance students take the stage for their half year concert.
Performances included jazz, ballet, acrobatics, tap and contemporary dance routines by male and female students from 18 months to 18 years.
JWDance director Joanne Williamson said jazz and hip-hop classes were surpassing traditional dance styles including ballet and tap in popularity because of reality television and music shows.
"Teenagers follow dance styles and dress in video clips, it's more casual whereas there's a lot more commitment with ballet and tap syllabuses,'' Miss Williamson said.
