RESIDENTS objecting to the possible rezoning of environmentally protected land at Helensburgh, Otford and Stanwell Tops planned to meet the state Opposition spokesman for planning, Brad Hazzard, yesterday.
Mr Hazzard said he was concerned about the region's environmental issues and planned to meet Wollongong Council area residents at Otford.
Several Sutherland Shire residents who own properties in the Wollongong Council area are concerned that rezoning could go ahead and 302 residences could be built.
``The issue is a planning decision and it should be based on community consultation,'' Mr Hazzard said.
