PANNY Nikas has revived his A-League dreams by signing a 12-month deal with North Queensland Fury.
The reigning National Youth League player of the year was in limbo after he was released from Central Coast Mariners.
Nikas returned to his junior club Sutherland Sharks in the NSW Premier League to maintain match fitness.
He said he was not worried about being overlooked for a professional contract.
"I was pretty happy when I heard the news,'' Nikas, 23, said.
"I've got good belief in myself and the good work I've done.
"I just kept continuing to do well for Sutherland and that kept me in good shape.''
The midfielder made his first team debut on December 31 and went on to play three matches. He was among 20 people who were put through a two-day trial with Fury in Sydney Olympic Park last month.
