MICHAEL Skiladellis and Zoe Daly have been dieting for up to three months for the upcoming Mr Australia bodybuilding, figure, fitness and bikini championships at Sharkies Leagues Club, Cronulla.
Now, all the hard work will be put to the test on stage. It hasn't been easy for Skiladellis, 21, of Hurstville, because his competition falls smack in the middle of his university exams.
"I've been studying exercise physiology, so it has been a bit tough getting ready for the Junior competition," said Skiladellis, who has won the Teenage Mr Australia contest in the past and faces about 10 competitors in the juniors.
Zoe Daly only took up competition a little more than a year ago and finished third in her first competition, in the "sports model" division. She has won two state titles and now competes in the "bikini" division of the Australian championships.
"I'd love to do well and eventually qualify to represent Australia at the Arnold Classic in America," Daly said.
Mr Olympia competitor Kai Greene is the special guest of the nationals for men and women. There are 200 competitors.
The Australian championships will be held at
Sharkies Leagues Club on Saturday and Sunday,
October 15 and 16.
