THE Woolooware team of Mark Kemister and Matthew Hayes (pictured right) have finished runners-up in the NSW Mens Fourball State Final at Bonville Golf Resort on the NSW North Coast.

The Terrey Hills' pairing of Dieter Monch and Peter Rae won the event. The joint leaders after day one, the Terrey Hills' pair followed up their 44 points with a fine round of 45 to win by three from the fast-finishing Woolooware team.

For Kemister, it was great win, so soon after resuming golf after a long career in outrigger canoes. Hurstville's Glen Blain and Branko Kulevski finished on 70 to be the next closest locals.

Beverley Park Golf Club have a team in the championship final of the annual Holden Scramble. The team of four amateur players Geoffrey Glynn, Roger Williams, David Gartrell and Scott Williams are joined by club professional Brad Mitchell.

The team (all Beverley Park members) were one of the two teams to qualify at the Beverley Park Holden Scramble on September 27. There were 27 teams competing at the local event. The Beverley Park team then joined up with Mitchell at the regional final at Riverside Oaks Golf Club on October 12 and won by 2.7 shots.

The championship final is an all-expenses paid trip for four nights at Twin Waters Resort, on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. Teams will play 36 holes over two days before a cut is made and the top half of teams join up with a touring pro for the last round.

Golfers will do anything for a game and for a charity. The women of Woolooware

(pictured above) are no exception.

The ladies travelled up to Nelson Bay on a recent golf trip and, afterwards, donated money to Camp Kookaburra, the organisation which offers fun programs to children living with families affected by mental illness.
