Dragons lose Fien but start season on fire

12 Mar, 2010 10:32 PM
ST George Illawarra stunned Parramatta with a clinical six-point victory against last year's grand finalists at Parramatta Stadium tonight.

In front of a capacity crowd the Dragons ran out 18-12 winners with tries to skipper Ben Hornby and Jeremy Smith.

Both tries for the away side came in the first half - with five-eighth Jamie Soward kicking three penalty goals to stretch the lead in the second stanza.

The only sour note for the Dragons was the suspected broken ankle suffered by hooker Nathan Fien.

Late withdrawal Matt Cooper is also likely to miss the club's next clash with Canterbury on Friday night.

fien is a massive loss to the red and whites, he is twice as good as young as a hooker.
