THE 18th annual Hurstville Rotary Club Antiques and Collectables Fair last weekend (February 8-10) finished with an upside and a downside.
The downside was that fewer people went through the doors of Hurstville's Marana Auditorium than last year, probably due to the competing Chinese New Year activities.
On the upside, the 1500 of those who did make it to the three-day event were great spenders.
Organiser Dorothy Dixon said the stallholders were thrilled because they sold more than usual.
Mrs Dixon said the exhibitions were fantastic and included furniture, jewellery, books, nautical items, and of course, Royal Doulton figurines.
The limited edition Queensland SES Bunnykin fetched $200 at auction and both raffle prizes went to Peakhurst residents.
Joyce, 92, was thrilled with her three flower ladies figurines, and Lesley loved the handmade quilt.
Money raised will go to Cystic Fibrosis NSW.
