DOG owners may soon have some new spots to take their four-legged friends, with Rockdale Council investigating off-leash areas at Kyeemagh, Sans Souci and Cook Park.
At Kyeemagh, it is the eastern side of General Holmes Drive, north of Kyeemagh baths which is being investigated.
At Sans Souci, it is the beach area between St George Sailing Club and Captain Cook bridge.
At Cook Park, it is the foreshore.
The council will assess if canine activities might be a threat to protected plants and animals in the areas.
Community comment will be invited to gauge support for the new dog sites.
Meanwhile, Frys Park dog reserve on the border of Rockdale and Kogarah is set to reopen in May after its $20,000 upgrade.
The upgrade is courtesy of Michelle Doring, of Arncliffe, who won the money in a dog food competition run by Nestle.
Should there be more off-leash areas for dogs in the area?
