I AM pleased to be part of a government that is maintaining the state's AAA credit rating and, at the same time, improving services in the Rockdale electorate.
One of my promises, the Arncliffe pedestrian tunnel, has been given the go-ahead, and is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2014.
The government has also proved its commitment to education spending, with more than $14 million allocated for capital works and infrastructure in schools and St George TAFE in 2012-13.
Health has also been a top priority.
■$39 million will be spent on the St George Hospital emergency department and specialist mental health unit.
■184 new graduate nurses
■36 subsidised nursing scholarship positions at St George TAFE.
■$560,000 for Calvary Hospital.
The government has provided vision with the WestConnex motorway and I am still committed to fighting for the F6.
One important goal is the construction of the car park at Rockdale station.
A disappointment involves the closure of Rockdale police station and its sale as a potential development site by the previous government.
Unscrambling this is difficult, as amalgamation of the St George and Hurstville local area commands has overtaken the issue.
