FOR the second year in a row, a student from Georges River College, Oatley, has represented NSW at the national student constitutional conference.
Year 12 student Amina Cohodarevic (pictured far right) was one of 24 delegates to attend the 18th annual National Schools Constitutional Convention.
Last year, the school's captain also represented the school at the conference.
Youth participated in debates that centred on current affairs topics in Australia.
"While the state convention debated whether Australia should be a republic, the national convention looked at recognising Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in the Australian Constitution," Amina said.
"The debate revolved around how this recognition would happen, whether a referendum would be successful and what the legal and social consequences would be."
