THE future looks bright for rising AFL star Lloyd Perris, a St George junior and Sydney Swans Academy member, who was awarded the peer-voted Ben Mitchell Medal.
Perris was presented with the academy's highest award at the conclusion of the 2012-13 AIS-AFL Academy program in Melbourne and — for the first time in the award's history — it was shared, with one also going to Victorian Josh Kelly.
Perris has had an exceptional two years as a member of the AIS-AFL Academy, receiving the level one Cameron Ling medal last year — also voted on by his peers — while recovering from a knee reconstruction.
Perris was a member of the recent championship-winning NSW/ACT team at the under-18 national championships.
They played in the final against Tasmania with the score NSW/ACT 6.10 (46) and Tasmania 4.4 (28).
He was named most valuable player.
