Mark and Alex will present an abstract on the University of Sydney Inclusive Research Program at the International Association for the Scientific Study of Intellectual and Development Disabilities (IASSID) Asia-Pacific Conference at Waseda University.
The university program, which the men have taken part in for 18 months, covers a wide range of topics exploring conceptual, theoretical, methodological and policy and practice issues.
The pair’s presentation will focus on people with disabilities and their experiences in the medical system.
Sylvanvale interim chief executive Alan Bish described the conference as an ‘‘incredible opportunity’’.
A $10,000 donation from St Johns Park Bowling Club enabled the men to attend.
IASSID also aims to improve the lives of carers.
