THERE was a sense of nostalgia at The Jannali High School recently.
Four former students revisited their old stomping ground, once known as Jannali Boys High School, in the lead up to their 50-year reunion in October.
John Bostelman, 66, Tom Croucher, 64, Paul Gray, 66, and Geoff Francis, 66, met with present students for a trip down memory lane, which led them to the school's design and technology classrooms.
The classrooms, weatherboard portables, were built in 1961 and used by the old-timers for woodwork and metalwork classes.
"A lot has changed at the school but these classrooms are exactly the same rooms except we didn't have the safety feature like they do now," Mr Bostelman said.
"We had some pretty good memories here."
The school was a boys' high school until 1992, when it combined with Jannali Girls, became co-educational and was renamed The Jannali High School, said relieving principal Mardi Benson.
Mr Bostelman is organising three 50-year reunions and will attend the class of 1963 reunion with Mr Gray.
"I'm definitely looking forward to seeing some old but familiar faces," Mr Gray said.
The reunion will be on Saturday, October 12, at Gymea.
