FOUR St George and Sutherland Shire high-school students were selected to attend the University of Sydney's Science Gifted and Talented Discovery Program three-day workshop earlier this month.
The budding scientists are Bexley locals Jing Hsu and Wincentia Wu of Sydney Girls High School, Catriona Calantzis of Danebank Anglican School for Girls and William Hill of Kingsgrove who attends St Patrick's College at Strathfield.
In all, 94 students in years 9 and 10 from NSW, ACT and Queensland did hands-on workshops and lectures in biology, chemistry and physics in a program for which 1731 students applied from 93 schools.
