Police will prepare a report for the State Coroner following a bicycle crash at Kurnell on November 2.
Miranda police said a man, 44, was riding his bike with a group along Captain Cook Drive about 1.5km north of the roundabout at Elouera Road about 7am when he hit a rock and fell on to the road.
Another rider, a man, 32, also fell from his bicycle and landed on the road.
Both men were treated by paramedics before being taken to St George Hospital.
The older man had emergency surgery for serious head injuries and was admitted to the intensive care unit with a broken arm, cuts and abrasions.
He died on Saturday night. The younger man sustained a broken cheekbone, cuts and abrasions; he is expected to recover.
