Police have charged three people and seized more than 750 cannabis plants and fraudulent documents during raids at Rockdale, Penshurst, Yagoona and Carlingford.
Redfern Region Enforcement Squad used a search warrant about 3.30pm on Wednesday at a property in Tyrell Street, Rockdale, and found 39 cannabis plants and several items used for growing hydroponic cannabis.
Search warrants were used on Thursday on properties at The Avenue, Yagoona; Donald Street, Carlingford; and Forest Road, Penshurst.
Police said 544 cannabis plants were seized and fraudulent documents, including fake driver’s licenses, were found at the Penshurst and Yagoona properties.
Officers found a hydroponic cannabis cultivation set-up and seized 174 cannabis plants at the Carlingford property.
Overall, 757 cannabis plants with a street value of $2.5 million were seized.
A woman, 27, of Yagoona and a man, 23, of Springvale, Victoria, were arrested and charged with drug cultivation and supply offences.
The Springvale man was arrested at the Rockdale property.
Both have been refused bail, with the woman due to appear in Burwood Local Court today and the man is expected to appear in Kogarah Local Court on Thursday.
A Cabramatta man, 23, arrested at the Penshurst property was charged with cultivation of prohibited drugs (cannabis). He was refused bail and appeared in Sutherland Local Court on Friday.
