JAMIL El-foul is a fast learner, a problem solver and a fully-qualified plumber. He also has a hearing impairment.
A client with the deaf and hearing impaired team at Nova Employment, Mr El-foul, 22, of Peakhurst, has been unemployed since October, when he injured his hand.
Now ready to get back to work, Mr El-foul has again joined forces with Nova to find employment.
"I love my job, I want to be out there plumbing," Mr El-foul said.
"I'm confident to say that I'm experienced enough and a fast learner.
"I've never had any problems with my hearing at work."
Mr El-foul first approached Nova several years ago in search of a plumbing apprenticeship.
"Back then we were building our house and I was watching how they were working," he said.
"I did work experience with a plumber at my own house and since then that was the only type of work I wanted to do."
Mr El-foul completed his trade and in the meantime inspired his younger brother Adam, who also has a hearing impairment.
He is now training to become a plumber.
"He was always interested in what I was doing and said he wanted to leave school and do what I do," Mr El-foul said.
"It makes me happy because one day we'd love to have a business together."
Nova job coach with the deaf and hearing impaired team, Cassandra Petterson, said Mr El-foul was a hard worker and would be an asset to any employer.
"He gets the job done, he is dedicated and he just needs someone to give him a chance," Ms Petterson said.
