SAFETY concerns at the beach off Dolls Point will be discussed at a meeting today between Rockdale Council officers and staff representing Minister for Roads and Ports, Duncan Gay.
Ayman Ksebe, 5, drowned at Dolls Point on December 22.
A mother, Carina El Saouda, organised an online petition for warning signs and restoration of the ‘‘unusable’’ sand-clogged swimming baths at Dolls Point.
The minister’s spokesman confirmed the meet and greet will be held today.
‘‘During a discussion with the council to move forward a local boat ramp project, it had asked us to look at safety issues around the beach,’’ the spokesman said.
‘‘This is not a public meeting.’’
NSW MLC Shaoquett Moselmane last week criticised Mr Gay for his ‘‘unsatisfactory’’ response to inspect conditions at the beach.
‘‘As a minister, he should make the effort to go to Dolls Point, not only to show that he cares as the minister responsible but act on the problems highlighted by the death of five-year-old Ayman,’’ Mr Moselmane said.
