AT My Little Angels Learning Academy at Hurstville they aim for an inclusive learning environment so it seemed natural to make Kaylah Fawcett feel extra welcome.
Kaylah, almost three, was born with a genetic condition known as Lebers congenital amourosis, which has made her blind, with some light perception.
Her parents say Kaylah has received regular assistance in her development from Vision Australia, including physiotherapy, mobility training and occupational therapy.
"Kaylah has been attending My Little Angels for 18 months and loves participating in all her school activities," Adam and Janette Fawcett said.
"As proud parents we see Kaylah having a bright and happy future with great support from Vision Australia, family and friends."
The staff at the childcare centre also work alongside Vision Australia to assist Kaylah day to day.
In late February they celebrated Sunnies for Sight Day with a picnic and funky sunglasses and raised $100 for Vision Australia.
The organisation responded by sending guide dog Biscuit to visit the children.
'This event helped all the children to become aware of children with additional needs," a staff member said.
