Lone girl: World's Greatest shave participants at Engadine High included one girl (fourth from left in middle row).
WHEN Engadine High School held its World's Greatest Shave Day there was a lone long-haired girl who decided to have her head shaved.
Year 12 student Samantha Townsend raised around $814, and that brought the total of the 22 boys and three staff members' fund-raising efforts up to $5500.
A number of girls sprayed their hair zany colours.
The money goes to helping the fight against leukaemia.
The fund-raising effort was part of a school policy to encourage social consciousness among students.
