SUTHERLAND Shire and St George netball representatives have been rewarded for their good form for NSW after a dozen state representatives were selected into the Australian 17 and under and 19U squads after the end of the 2014 National Netball Championships in Melbourne.
Five state athletes were announced in the 22 athlete-strong Australian 19U squad including Toni Anderson (Sutherland Shire), Madeline Hay (NSW Swifts/Sutherland Shire) and Lauren Yager (Sutherland Shire). They will attend a five-day training camp later this year at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra.
Seven athletes were announced in the Australian 17U development squad includeing Claire O'Brien (St George) and Cassandra Radford (Sutherland Shire).
Selectors have named 22 in the 19U national squad and 36 make up the 17U national development squad.
