THEY are known as Mark and Tina Harris to their Rockdale neighbours but in a new TV series coming to 7Two, they become Lah Lah and Buzz the bandleader.
The series will introduce a dancing double bass, Mister Saxophone, and a pair of musical instruments, Squeezy Sneezy and Tom Tom.
Away from the TV screen, Lah-Lah is the brainchild of musicians Tina Harris, formerly with Opera Australia, and her husband Mark Harris, who was the bass player for the ARIA award-winning five-piece gypsy rock band, Monsieur Camembert.
At home at Rockdale, the couple have two daughters aged 10 and eight and, according to Tina a "mini zoo in the back comprising a number of rabbits and chickens plus a cat and a dog".
"Rockdale is the perfect area for us. We love living there," Tina said.
They also love live appearances and have performed at Canterbury-Hurlstone Park RSL, with plans for more live appearances "all over Sydney".
Her character Lah Lah is described as "inquisitive, clever and loves to sing" and Buzz the Bandleader and those musical instruments negotiate their way through various tricky situations — all with the aim of introducing young viewers to the world of music.
"Lah-Lah was created to promote the love of quality music performances," Mark said.
