ST George Illawarra Dragons lock Trent Merrin will play his 100th first-grade game for the club during the Anzac Day fixture against the Sydney Roosters at Allianz Stadium tomorrow.
"Anzac Day is a very special occasion and it is my favourite game of the season," said Merrin, whose form this year should see him again chosen in the NSW Origin team for the 2014 interstate series.
"It is a privilege to be able to play my 100th game for the Dragons on such an important day on the nation's calendar."
The Dragons showed some of the form they'll need to demonstrate in toppling the New Zealand Warriors 20-10 at Kogarah Jubilee Oval on Saturday.
The Roosters did just enough to beat the Cronulla Sharks in the latter stages, 24-18 at Remondis Stadium on Saturday night.
Both sides will be looking for more consistency over 80 minutes after suffering a series of losses beforehand, and should be again spurred on by a good Anzac Day crowd.
■The Return to Kogarah group's petition calling for more Kogarah games, a return of the local derby and guarantees games won't be switched from Kogarah in future, has attracted more than 1500 signatures since Saturday's game at Kogarah Jubilee Oval.
The petition (tinyurl.com/r2kog) and the Leader poll (theleader.com.au) continue.
