UPDATE: Four whales seen off Kurnell on Tuesday.
Whale watching from Cape Solander at Kurnell has begun for those keen to watch the annual migration from Antarctica to the tropics.
Veteran whale watcher, volunteer Wayne Reynolds, reports his observations to the Royal National Parks and Wildlife Service.
He said he had seen about a dozen whales during the past 10 days.
‘‘There was one this morning at Kurnell,’’ Mr Reynolds said.
The morning is generally a better time to see the whales.’’
Whalewatching Sydney reported six sightings off Bondi on Saturday and three on Sunday around the harbour. The business runs whale watching tours from Sydney and resumes cruises from Sans Souci in June and July.
