TWO TAFE students from St George and Sutherland Shire again have won awards for outstanding achievement in their education and training this year.
Recipient of the Sydney Institute Medal, comic book creator Sarah Boxall of Barden Ridge won the Vocational Student of the Year prize at the central and northern Sydney regional training awards on Thursday night.
Mitchell Blizard of Connells Point won the industry award for vehicle trades and Apprentice of the Year.
Both students who studied at St George
College now have the chance to progress to the state training awards in September.
Four students from Sutherland College are also finalists in the southern Sydney regional awards, to be held tonight.
The include Christopher Foldi of Caringbah South (apprentice finalist for hospitality), Heather Fleming of Gymea (trainee finalist for business administration), and two Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander finalists,
Elliot Bancroft of Mortdale (plumbing) and South Hurstville's Mirrinda McKenzie (business administration).
Hospitality teacher Julie Webster, of Loftus, is a finalist for best vocational trainer.
