A motorbike rider, 24, died in the Royal National Park on Sunday afternoon after his bike is believed to have crossed to the wrong side of the road and hit a car.
Sutherland police said the accident in Sir Bertram Stevens Drive happened about 12.30pm when the Chatswood rider was heading south.
His bike appeared to veer into the north-bound lane and collided with a Kia Rio driven by a man, 33.
Emergency services were called but could not revive the rider who died at the scene.
Police said the driver, who was travelling alone, did not need treatment.
Shocking pictures of the scene show a motorbike crushed under the front passenger wheel of a black sedan which had significant damage to its grill and undercarriage.
Sutherland police are asking anyone who may have seen the crash to contact them via Crime Stoppers, 1800 333 000.
They will prepare a report for the State Coroner.
Two other motorbike riders were injured seriously over the weekend in Illawarra region accidents.
