St George Illawarra winger Brett Morris has passed a fitness test and will play for the Dragons against Manly tonight at Kogarah Jubilee Oval.
Morris, who had the fitness test at training yesterday (Sunday), convinced coach Paul McGregor that he was right to play.
News of Morris’s return is a huge boost for the Dragons.
As reported in the Leader in recent days, Morris would return, two weeks ahead of schedule on the left wing, after dislocating his shoulder in State Origin I.
Charly Runciman has made way for Morris, one of the NRL’s premier wingers and tryscorers.
In other late news, Wayne Bennett has decided to return as Brisbane Broncos.
The Dragons who had expressed a strong interest in getting Bennett, for a second stint as coach, are now looking at their options.
McGregor has the support of the players to become the permanent coach.
The Dragons need to defeat Manly, tonight, to stay in touch with the top eight.
Match kick-off is 7pm.
