LEO and Jean Tortorella, who have been married for 70 years, met at a city dance.
"It was at Prince's in Martin Place," Leo recalled of meeting Jean McGrath.
"We all used to gather there after work on a Saturday for a drink and a dance.
"I saw Jean on the dance floor and thought she looked lovely, so I asked her to dance."
The two shared a love of dancing, with Leo even proposing to Jean while they were on the dance floor.
They married at St Stephen's Church in the city, 18 months after meeting one another.
In 1973, the Tortorellas settled at Connells Point, a home they shared until a few months ago when Jean moved into a nursing home.
Leo and Jean share lunch and dinner together most days.
They didn't have children of their own but have a large extended family and celebrated their 70th anniversary with nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
Leo gave his version of what makes a long, happy marriage.
"Do as much as possible together, and take whatever comes," he said.
Jean, 95, pointed to the sky to say what she thought.
"Accept whatever He has planned," she said.
