ASPIRING musicians from St George Girls High School, Kogarah, will take Asia by creative storm this year when they travel overseas to showcase their talents.
A total of 45 students have been selected to represent Australia in the Department of Education and Communities' cultural awareness program, Expanding Horizons.
The program aims to foster positive national relations and to promote a celebration of cultures, tolerance, understanding and peace between Australia and China.
St George Girls High School will be among the group on the music tour, which will visit Shanghai, Nanjing, Suzhou and Beijing in September.
Students will perform at historic theatres and will have the chance to see famous landmarks and develop a relationship with their Chinese sister school.
Their school's fund-raising committee of parents raised money for the international excursion through sausage sizzles, cake stalls, busking and a trivia night.
